It is important that pupils are given a variety of different tasks in order to be challenged in different ways. Some tasks encourage students to work together towards finding a solution to a problem, others allow for a greater divergence of views and opinions and do not have any fixed “end point“. Some tasks require students to work together to say quite a lot in one go , other require more frequent shorter turns in dialogues and conversations. Some tasks require students to work in groups, some in pairs, and some to make individual presentations. This workshop will provide you with a taste of various activities.
Lenka Boehmová, a secondary school teacher, has been teaching English at Gymnázium Teplice since 1990. She is the Head of English Department and Preparation Centre for International Examinations there. She has been working with Macmillan as an Educational Consultant since the year 2000 and has already done a lot of talks on behalf of this publisher. Some of you could remember her tips for teaching children with dyslexia. She has got experience with teaching children, teenagers, adults and worked for MŠMT as a teacher trainer, too.
